Tafsir Nur al-Thaqalayn

Tafsir Nur al-Thaqalayn

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Praise be to God who sent down the Criterion to His slave so that he may a herald to the worlds.

This is a work of tafsir al-Qur'an authored by `Abd `Ali b. Jum`ah al-`Arusi al-Huwayzi (d. 1112AH) who intended to collate together all of the hadiths pertaining to tafsir available to him in the Imami Shi`a hadith works. In doing so, he hoped to display additional signs in the Qur'anic verses and unveil some of the secret interpretations of the verses as mentioned in the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt. As for what he quotes which seemingly contradicts the positions of consensus of the rightful sect (i.e. the Imami Shi`a), then he states that he does not imply its reliability. Rather, he cites it in order that the reader know what it states and from whom it was transmitted, so that one may look for a more correct interpretation, not allowing it to stop him from quoting what conflicts with it.

The contents of the work are loosely divided here as per different themes or subjects.
